Quick Answer
The Mi Scusi! Core Bundle packs the original Italian party game and five expansions into one box, so you get more variety and replayability right away. It's designed for bigger groups, so gather your friends and family before you start.
Why the Core Bundle is a smart starting point
If you're new to Mi Scusi!, the Core Bundle gives you the base game plus five expansions in one purchase. That means you don't have to track down separate packs later, and you'll have a wider range of prompts and challenges from the start.
Because the game is written by Italian comedians for people from Italian families, the humor is rooted in real family dynamics. That's part of the charm, but it also means the jokes may land differently depending on your group's comfort with loud, opinionated relatives.
Who will enjoy Mi Scusi! most
Mi Scusi! is a party game, so it shines with more players. The more people you have, the more chaotic and fun the rounds become. If you usually play with just two or three, you might not get the full experience.
The game is also a good fit for groups that appreciate improv-style humor and don't mind a little friendly arguing. If your group prefers quiet, strategic games, this might not be your first choice.
Mi Scusi! FAQ: Quick Answers
- What's in the box?
- The Core Bundle includes the Mi Scusi! base game and five expansions. That means you get the original cards plus additional prompt decks, giving you more variety and replayability. Check the expansion themes when you open the box so you can mix and match for different group moods.
- How do I set up the game?
- Setup is simple: shuffle the base game cards and place them in the center. Each player takes a turn drawing a card and reading the prompt aloud. The exact turn order and scoring are explained in the rulebook, but the game is designed for quick starts.
- What are the basic rules?
- Players take turns drawing a card and reading the prompt. The other players respond or act out their answers, and the group decides who wins the round. The game encourages loud, funny reactions, so don't be shy. Agree on a house rule for ties before you start to keep the game moving.
- How many players do I need?
- While the box doesn't specify a minimum, the game is designed for larger groups. You'll have the most fun with at least four to six players, and it gets even better with more. If you have fewer than four, consider playing with a smaller deck or using a timer to speed up rounds.
- How long does a game last?
- A typical round lasts about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on group size and how much everyone gets into the arguments. You can also play shorter sessions by limiting the number of rounds. Set a round limit before you start if you're short on time.
- Can I play with just the expansions?
- Yes, you can shuffle expansion cards into the base deck or use them on their own for a themed night. The expansions add new prompts, so you can customize the experience. Try mixing one expansion at a time to see which themes your group likes best.
